Overview

The SSI Open Water Diver certification is the flagship course of the SSI programme and one of the most widely recognised scuba qualifications in the world. The course combines online learning through the MySSI platform, confined water training in a pool to develop and perfect core diving skills, and four open water dives in the ocean. You will learn to plan and execute dives safely, manage all standard scuba equipment, control buoyancy, and navigate underwater. Upon certification, you are qualified to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum of 18 metres at dive sites around the world — the beginning of a lifetime of exploration.
