Overview

The SSI Dive Guide is the first professional rating in the SSI system and is compliant with the internationally recognised ISO 24801-3 (Dive Leader) standard. As an SSI Dive Guide, you are qualified to lead certified divers on guided dives in familiar diving environments, conduct pre-dive briefings, manage dive operations, and assist SSI Instructors during training programmes. To qualify, candidates must hold the Diver Stress and Rescue specialty, Navigation, Deep Diving, and Night and Limited Visibility specialty certifications, have a minimum of 40 logged open water dives at the start of training and 50 at completion, hold current React Right (first aid and CPR) certification, and have a physician-signed medical statement. The course itself involves intensive in-water and classroom training, practical assessments, and real-world work experience within an SSI Training Center.
