Overview

The SSI Basic Diver program goes a step further than Try Scuba, combining an introduction to scuba equipment and basic diving skills with both confined water and open water dives. It is the ideal course for those who want to try genuine ocean diving without yet committing to a full certification programme. You will learn how to use your equipment, manage your buoyancy at a basic level, and experience the underwater world in a real open water environment — all under the close guidance of an SSI professional throughout. Many Basic Divers discover during this course that diving is for them, and proceed directly to the full Open Water Diver programme.
