Night Diving and Limited Visibility

Diving after dark reveals a completely different ocean.

Overview

Diving after dark reveals a completely different ocean. Nocturnal reef creatures emerge from hiding — octopus, moray eels, sleeping parrotfish, and bioluminescent plankton that make the water glow with every movement. This combined specialty teaches dive light use and communication, navigation in limited or zero visibility, diving in poor conditions, and the unique safety protocols of night operations. Required for the SSI Dive Guide and Divemaster pathway. Prerequisite: Open Water Diver.
