Overview

SSI’s range of Ecology specialty programmes — covering sharks, manta rays, turtles, coral reefs, and the wider marine ecosystem — develop your understanding of the ocean’s living systems and your role as a responsible diver within them. Learn to identify species, understand animal behaviour, and apply best-practice interaction guidelines that protect the creatures and environments you love most. Several ecology specialties also qualify you to assist SSI professionals in teaching these programmes. Prerequisite: Open Water Diver.
